Acceptable Use Policy

Users must use Lkota only for lawful, authorized business purposes.

1. Permitted use

Users may access vehicle data only:

• through an authorized Lkota account;
• for an individual vehicle;
• in connection with evaluating a used car or truck;
• for Customer’s internal business use; and
• in compliance with applicable laws and contracts.

2. Prohibited activities

A user may not:

• sell, sublicense, lease, distribute, or commercially provide ClearVin Licensed Materials separately from Lkota;
• scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk-download, or systematically extract vehicle data;
• create a separate VIN, valuation, title, registration, lien, theft, population, or statistical database;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify Lkota or ClearVin products;
• access data for curiosity, stalking, harassment, surveillance, or another improper purpose;
• use false, stolen, or unauthorized VINs or identity documents;
• share usernames, passwords, tokens, or API credentials;
• bypass rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
• upload malware or interfere with platform operation;
• misrepresent report results;
• describe a report as guaranteed, complete, official, or government clearance;
• remove proprietary notices or source attributions;
• use ClearVin trademarks without written approval;
• access another company’s records;
• use vehicle data to determine eligibility for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or another regulated eligibility purpose unless separately authorized and legally permitted;
• disclose seller identification to an unauthorized person;
• retain downloaded information longer than legally and contractually permitted; or
• use the Services for an unlawful vehicle purchase, title wash, theft concealment, fraud, or evasion of reporting requirements.

3. Monitoring and enforcement

Lkota may monitor account usage, request records, restrict functions, suspend accounts, block VIN requests, or terminate access where Lkota reasonably believes that misuse has occurred.

Lkota may preserve and disclose relevant records where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect Lkota, ClearVin, a Customer, a vehicle owner, or another party.

4. Reporting misuse

Suspected misuse must be reported immediately to:
